Unfortunately there are those who don’t believe women have the right to have an abortion.  There are also those who believe that homosexuals are bound for an afterlife of misery and suffering.  But what of their time on earth?  Why must so many fight to make the one life they will ever have, one of shame, secrecy, judgment, exclusion, and a fight to love the person of their choosing?  Not all theists are homphobes, but the loudest homophobes are all theists.  Yes I said all and you know how I feel about generalizations.  Every vocal and public organization fighting to prohibit equality that I’ve researched, has a religious base.

THIS!!!!  I love how all these groups manage to avoid doing anything of substance for people who are actually here and suffering!

dear internet, let me tell you some things about my public-school-in-georgia sex education.

pictured above is my abstinence til marriage card, given to me in my eighth grade health class. as you can see, i did not sign it, so it is non-binding. they were “optional” but the teacher placed the basket at the front of the class and stared us down. my 13-year-old self had a very brief dilemma between 1. making a stand and not getting one or 2. getting one because it’s fucking hilarious. i am very glad i chose the latter, because as i predicted, this is now something hilarious to show everyone.

that year in health we also learned “how to spot the identifying features of a crack baby” which is literally nothing but lies. we had a system of anonymous questions, and once someone asked “how do i know if i’m a lesbian?” our teacher looked disgusted and she replied “how would i know? i’m not a lesbian!”

EDIT i forgot to mention when she gave these to us she suggested we “cut up our cards together with our husbands on our wedding day” and i remember thinking, fuck if i marry someone from my middle school

the next time i had sex ed in high school it was taught by a dude gym coach who spent the whole time talking about his daughters. the book we were learning from listed “low self-esteem” “stunted social growth” and “depression,” among others, as consequences of premarital sex. at one point, it asked us to fill in the disadvantages of having an abortion. our teacher went, “well, i’m personally against abortion, so we’re just going to skip this section,” which confused me, because it was explicitly asking for an argument against abortion.

the last time i had sex ed it was pretty good and there were free condoms and we got little bottles of lube every time we answered questions, but i don’t think that counts cause it was in an intro to women’s studies class.

new fun fact learned today-

ATM can mean “at the moment”, “Automated Teller Machine”, Ass to Mouth, or Abstinence Till Marriage”.  This is a beautiful moment.

Attention YOLO generation and your dumb, racist counterparts, do you know when it’s okay to do this?

Answer: Never.

However if you’re looking for a quick laugh, I do have a joke for you,

Knock Knock
Who’s there?
My
My who?
My foot up your ass.

When you mock and belittle the death of Trayvon, you reinforce the racism that underpins our social institutions and in the process produce more events akin those in Florida. In my opinion, there’s no reason that I shouldn’t feel insulted and/or threatened by the action in these photos (not even if you’re an idiotic white teenager, sorry.) Ergo, why wouldn’t I put my foot up your ass?

Edit: Answer: There’s just no way that I wouldn’t.

This is literally the most disgusting thing I’ve seen in a long time, oh my god.

Yes, I have finished my book.  My very first book.  It is in the hands of the publisher and now I wait for their edits and graphics to be added.

The topic?  Quickies:Hot and Fast

The book, as it is currently written, discusses:

1. Redefining quickies

2. The importance of your brain

3. Orgasms and sexy body parts

4.  Communication, Dirty Talk and Fantasies

5.  What to always have on hand

6.  Where to do it in the house (and what to do if you have roommates or little ones wandering around)

7.  Where to do it outside of the house

8.  The best emotion styles for each position, options for new positions, and figuring out the danger levels depending on where you play

9.  Having fun while you are frolicking fast!

I worked really hard to make sure that different ability levels, ages, relationships styles and sexual orientations were included.  Plus there are a lot of activities that are included for partner(s) play or introspective time.

Don’t know when it goes into print, but you can pre-order it soon.

Done, done, done!

Do you want to become a sexuality educator, counselor or therapist?  Attend a SAR!  There is one coming up in June at The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health.

The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health invites mental health professionals, students, health-care providers and anyone interested in reflecting on and gaining awareness about sexuality-related issues to its Sexual Attitude Reassessment Seminar (SAR). The SAR will be a three day intensive seminar that, through media integration and a variety of interactive activities and discussions, assists participants in the self-evaluation of their feelings, values, and attitudes as these relate to the diversity of human sexual behavior.

The SAR is a basic requirement for those who wish to become certified as sexuality educators, counselors, or therapists, but it can also benefit people in a range of other professions. The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) suggests that this experience occur early in ones training so it can be most beneficial to one’s understanding personal biases and values while working with sexually-diverse populations.

This program meets the attitude and values training requirement for certification by AASECT and is approved for 22 CE Credits (provider #10-108H).

This program has been approved for 22.5 Social Work Continuing Education hours for re-licensure, in accordance with 258 CMR, Collaborative of NASW and The Boston College and Simmons Schools of Social Work Authorization number D 51996.

While sexually explicit media, conversations, and small group discussions are part of the SAR; there is no live nudity or sexual activity included (or permitted) in the program. If you have any questions about the program and/or its structure, please call the CSPH or email us at thecsph@gmail.com.

While 600.00 may seem like a lot, it is one of the cheapest SAR for your money going around.  (CSPH interns are able to attend one for free during their internship though)Pre-registration for this seminar is required. No, you can’t deny women their basic rights and pretend it’s about your ‘religious freedom.’ If you don’t like birth control, don’t use it. Religious freedom doesn’t mean you can force others to live by your own beliefs.

Profile

Board Certified Sexologist, Founder of The CSPH
Health, Wellness and Fitness | Providence, Rhode Island Area, US

Summary

Megan Andelloux is a nationally certified sexuality educator through The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists and a board certified sexologist through The American College of Sexologists.

Ms. Andelloux worked for nine years as a youth-focused sexuality educator in NY, RI, CT, and NJ before bringing her love for teaching at a locally run feminist sex-shop in Providence, RI. It was there that she began to notice adults did not have a space to ask questions and learn about sexuality. She also noticed adults hold many of the same questions teens do when it comes to sexual issues, and so she merged into working in the world of adult sexuality education.

Ms. Andelloux lectures internationally at colleges, universities, medical schools, and sexuality institutions on issues surrounding sexual pleasure, sexual health, politics, and erotic justice. To date, she has taught at over three dozen higher educational institutions, including medical schools and Ivy league universities such as Brown, Yale, and Harvard.

She is a regular contributor at www.carnalnation.com, www.sexualhealth.com, & www.hercampus.com, a sought-after sexuality consultant for print media, and an author in the book “We Got Issues” A Feminist Response to Cultural Attitudes On Feminism. Ms. Andelloux was named ” Vagina Warrior of the Year” from the Vagina Monologues for her work regarding sexual communication and fear reduction. She has been labeled by the Rhode Island press as “The Princess of Pleasure” and more recently, “The Sex Ed Warrior Queen” as she is on a mission to promote sexual health, wellness, and communication.

She is listed on Wikipedia as an American Feminist, Writer and Sex Educator and on the Erotic Heritage Museum’s Hall of Heros, which showcases icons of sexual revolution.
